PM Hun Sen Safely Arrives in Washington

WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Hun Sen safely arrived in Washington, D.C. in the United States at around 5:10 PM local time on Tuesday, 10 May (6:10 AM on Wednesday in Cambodia).

The Prime Minister is in Washington to attend the ASEAN-US Special Summit, which will be held on 12-13 May and will be co-chaired by Prime Minister Hun Sen and US President Joe Biden.

The Prime Minister’s special plane and Cambodian delegation landed at the Joint Base Andrews International Airport in Washington, D.C., where many high-ranking US and Cambodian diplomats welcomed his arrival.

Many of the Prime Minister’s supporters from the United States and Canada also came to greet him directly at his residence in Washington.

According to the planned program, in addition to attending the ASEAN-US Special Summit on 12-13 May, Prime Minister Hun Sen, as the Chair of ASEAN and the Co-Chair of the ASEAN-US Special Summit, will also engage in bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, and other ASEAN-US leaders. He will also meet with around 1,000 Cambodians living in the United States in person.
